Greetings good people!
I hope your week is commencing with you in good health and mood. The Sun is coming out more consistently where I am, and the UV Index is starting to get high enough to make Vitamin D in the skin. So I’ve been getting out as much as possible. I recommend you do the same. Sunlight is an energetic “superfood,” especially for those of us with high amounts of eumelanin in our bodies.
On that note, I’m happy to be sharing episode 4 of The Panafrican Science Podcast entitled Mitochondria and Melatonin are Essential For Health! This episode will explain what mitochondria are, how we would not be alive without them and how they are vulnerable to oxidative damage (and what that even is). It also explains that melatonin is a superpower antioxidant and is created in mitochondria, with near-infrared light triggering this production.
