Salama people! It's Monday, which means new podcast:
The focus this week is on how ultraviolet sunlight is good for you, especially (but not exclusively) if you have dark skin. The video covers a few of the known beneficial impacts of UV solar light, and also addresses the "what about skin cancer" point (which is an important point). Ultraviolet light can indeed damage our skin but that's where eumelanin comes in. Eumelanin (the brown and black melanin, or true melanin) is another one of these “superhero” molecules which confer enormous benefits to us. The darker your skin, the more you should be out in the sun, soaking up them rays. Hope you enjoy and learn something from it, please do like, comment and share.
We’ll be back this Saturday 20th April morning (Eastern U.S. time) to start reading chapter 14 of Blueprint For Black Power. The chapter is entitled Race and Economics and from looking at the sections, it’ll be focusing on how other ethnic groups have developed international networks that have enhanced their economic (and thus political) power.
Take care for now and see you soon
