Yurugu by Marimba Ani: Conclusion - Yurugu the Incomplete Being

#WeAreReading Ep21

We finally come to the last episode of Yurugu. This hefty book is a must-read for any African who wants to understand why the world is the way it is. Mama Marimba Ani goes to great lengths and meticulous detail to explore the European mind. In this final chapter, she brings it all together explaining how the asili concept helps us to consider European ideology as a monolithic hole. Yurugu was written in the early 1990s like so many other classic works of Black Thought. Marimba Ani is a brilliant thinker who has shown her ability to analyse and critique European thought with precision and power.
